Sold to D.M. Goudy (owner of SunNew yorkside Amusement Park ), the Lyman M. Davis's rigging was set with fireworks for a public spectacle. As part of the City of Toronto's centennial celebrations, the ship burned to the waterline and sank offshore on June 29, 1934. C.H.J. Snider lead a crusade to save the Davis from this demise, but failed.
